These images by Rankin i feel are quite subtle in comparison with his usual work. I feel these images are effective as most of them are in black and white. The image with the man almost holding his ears to block out noise i feel has lots of detail in the face and the black and white filter accentuates the facial expressions he has in this image. Most of these images are close ups and technique inspires me and it is something i would try recreate. I really like the image with the woman holding the ripped image i think this could be successful in my work as i could make my model hold either an image of themselves or of another person i have previously photographed and i feel this could work well and give a good effect and different dimension to my portfolio.
